Magma Rising: Genesis Ignites the Le Mans Grid

Genesis Magma Racing sheds its underdog status, unveiling a pair of GMR-001 Hypercars in a gradient livery designed to bleed across the Mulsanne Straight.

While the golf world has long associated Genesis with the refined quiet of the Invitational at Riviera, the Korean marque is trading hushed galleries for the visceral roar of the Circuit de la Sarthe. Heading into their 24 Hours of Le Mans debut, Genesis Magma Racing has pulled the silk off a striking visual identity for the GMR-001, a design that feels less like a corporate statement and more like a thermal signature.

The aesthetic centers on a high-velocity gradient that transitions from a bruised, deep red to a vibrant Magma Orange. It is a deliberate nod to the 'energy and culture' of the brand’s Korean roots, effectively making the GMR-001 the most aggressive piece of kit to come out of the peninsula. This isn't just paint; it's a return to the high-intensity Magma-inspired look first teased at the 2025 Manufacturer Village, now fully realized for the rigors of the World Endurance Championship.

Spotting the difference during a 200-mph midnight pass will require a keen eye. The team is running a two-car assault: the #17 entry sticks to a classic orange and black motif, while the #19 car is differentiated by sharp white logos and highlights. It’s a subtle distinction for a team that is otherwise aiming to be impossible to ignore on its first outing in the Hypercar class.

Unveiled in Le Castellet, France, the GMR-001 represents a pivots for Genesis from the hospitality suite to the heat of the apex. For a brand that has mastered the luxury short game, this Le Mans entry is a high-torque drive into the unknown. If the performance matches the plumage, the established European order may have more than just a colorful distraction to worry about come June.
