Magma Flow: Genesis Sets the Le Mans Circuit Ablaze

The Korean powerhouse moves from the executive clubhouse to the Mulsanne Straight with a pair of GMR-001 Hypercars draped in striking volcanic hues.

While the executive set usually finds Genesis parked in the reserved stalls of the world’s most exclusive country clubs, the brand is trading the quiet luxury of the fairway for the high-decibel intensity of the Circuit de la Sarthe. Heading into their 24 Hours of Le Mans debut, Genesis Magma Racing has pulled the silk off a livery that confirms they aren’t just coming to participate; they are coming to burn the house down.

The pair of GMR-001 Hypercars features a dramatic gradient transitioning from a deep, bruised red to a vibrant Magma Orange. It’s a visual nod to the team’s Korean roots and the 'energy' of their high-performance Magma sub-brand. The design serves as a homecoming of sorts, echoing the concept livery first teased in the Manufacturer Village back in 2025, but refined for the grueling realities of 24-hour competition.

True to the meticulous nature of a pro’s yardage book, the team has ensured spotting their contenders won't be a chore for the grandstands. The #17 entry will lean into a sinister orange and black aesthetic, while the #19 car is differentiated by crisp white logos and highlights. It is a dual-threat strategy that mirrors a Sunday charge from the final pairing, with both cars gunning for a share of the World Endurance Championship leaderboard.

This Le Mans debut in the top-tier Hypercar class represents a seismic shift for Genesis. By moving into the World Endurance Championship (WEC), the manufacturer is distancing itself from its sensible sedan reputation. If the GMR-001’s performance matches its visuals, the established European giants of endurance racing might find themselves looking over their shoulders at a very bright, very fast Korean orange streak.
